ECS Autobiography

Excerpt from my autobiographical essay.

I do not believe education is the route for everyone, to be an educator it takes patience, compassion, and drive. Apart of me always wanted to be an educator, I felt that’s where I fit. From grade five all the way to my indecisive senior year a part of me always knew that I would end up in education. The beginning of my senior year was the only time I questioned myself and thought to stray away from education. After years of that being the only option in my mind, I thought I owed it to myself to explore other paths. With some reflection on life experiences, past teachers, who I want to be, and what I will strive to do in my future I found that being an educator is all that I can see for myself.

… When reflecting upon my experiences with school and the school community I realized there is no profession I would rather take on. The idea of giving support to people when needed most is something so important to me and my morals in life. Having a hands-on connection with youth and their growth as people will only make me a better educator and a more worthy guide. As well as being able to create a safe space for youth not only within a classroom setting but through physical activity and wellbeing is something so empowering. Over my past 13 years of education, I have learned that there is no career that I would rather take on. I am an educator.
