    Yoga with Jasmine

Well, the end is near.  This EDTC300 class has been a slice!  I wish I could say the same about the entire Fall 2022 semester, but I definitely cannot.  This semester has been my hardest one yet throughout my education degree journey, and so I am thankful that it is just about over.  Taking 5 classes, doing my pre-internship, all while having 3 kids in extracurricular activities 5-6 days a week has been overwhelming, to say the least, but I know the end result will be so worth it, and so I just need to keep on pushing! With all of that being said, and the stressful semester that I…

    Let’s Retry This….

Well, last week was somewhat of a fail I would say.  If you can recall, I tried to follow along with a Facebook reel, which ended up being very hard!  I moved from beginner yoga videos that I had been doing in the previous weeks, to an intermediate yoga video last week.  I felt a little defeated after trying the intermediate video because I felt as though after all of these weeks of practicing, it should have been much easier for me than it was.  Here is a snapshot of what the video looked like.  I mean in hindsight, I probably should have realized that this video would be difficult…

    Intermediate Yoga…With A Person (That’s Me) Who Definitely Doesn’t Have Intermediate Skills…

Well, here is my learning project post number 8!  After following alongside an intermediate video this week, it is hard to believe that I am on week 8, because I definitely feel like a beginner after the video that I attempted.  I decided to try to use Facebook as my learning resource this week.  I typed in “intermediate yoga videos” in the search engine, and some reels showed up.  The reel that I decided to follow alongside can be found here. Now, let me say, this reel was HARD!  There was a lot of bending, and I have no idea if my body will ever be able to bend the…

    Intermediate Yoga…and Some Good Laughs!

Well, as promised, I moved on to bigger (not so sure better) things this week!  It’s week 7, and I decided it was time to move from beginner yoga poses to intermediate yoga poses.  I decided to check out Pinterest for some intermediate yoga poses, as I figured something along the lines of a poster would be easier to practice alongside with, rather than a video, since I am just beginning with intermediate poses.  I am glad I did so, because I found a good picture that had some intermediate poses that intrigued me.  Here is the photo that I found: Now, if I am being truthful, these poses looked…

Onto Bigger and Better (hopefully) Things Next Week….

Well, I have decided this is the last week that I will be following alongside beginner yoga videos.  Next week, I plan to move to more advanced yoga moves, and hopefully follow alongside an intermediate video…wish me luck!  Since I plan to move on to more advanced moves next week, I thought it would be best to refresh my memory on all of the yoga poses that I have done so far, and refresh my memory on the correct form while practicing these moves.  I took a trip down memory lane and re-read all of my previous learning project posts, and re-watched the videos that I posted.  I also partook…

Inhale, Exhale… Things Will Get Better

Well, this week has been a bit of a rough one for me.  Between doctor’s appointments, catching covid (2nd time for me, 3rd time in this household..yay…), and anxiety and stress, I have really been feeling overwhelmed.  I decided to take it easy on my body this week and do another beginner yoga video.  Covid has me feeling super tired, with an intense headache, so I didn’t want to push my body too hard.  Anyways, enough with my pity party, I’ll now get on to talking about this week’s learning project. When thinking about what I would use for my learning tool this week, I recalled in class someone recommending…

    Yoga for Beginners

Well, the 4th week of my learning project is complete.  I’ll say it now and I’ll probably say it again every week after this, but, where does the time go?  This week, I decided to actually try to follow along with a video for my yoga practice.  So far, I have just done research on certain poses and names of poses, and tried doing yoga poses just by looking at pictures, so I thought it would be a good time to get into actually following alongside someone in a video.  I chose to use YouTube this week for my learning resource.  I typed in “beginner yoga videos” in the YouTube…

    That. Was. Hard.

Hello everyone!  Week 3 of my learning project.  Where does the time go?  This week, I spent some time exploring a new app that I could use to showcase my yoga learnings.  The app that I used was called CapCut .  This link will bring you to the desktop version, which is not what I used.  Instead, I downloaded the app on my iPhone, and used that to create my video content.  The app did not require me to make an account which was nice, instead, I just used my google account to log in.  From there, the process was relatively easy.   I found the app very easy to navigate…

    Spirituality…Something That I Somewhat Lack.

Well, I am on to week 2 of my learning project!  I decided that this week I will just spend some time researching yoga, before continuing on with practicing yoga moves.  This week, I decided to find an online source that explains yoga in full detail.  Sure, I know it is a series of movements that can lead to strength and flexibility, but I was unsure of the different yoga terminology, and so I wanted to find a source that explained yoga in full detail.  The source that I used was Yoga For Beginners.  This website stated that yoga is “a vast collection of spiritual techniques and practices aiming at…

    Namaste

I would describe myself as somewhat of a “fitness junkie.”  I love fitness; I love running, walking, lifting weights, riding my spin bike, etc.  When I thought about what I should do for my learning project, I wanted to do something that I already had some interest in.  So, fitness came to my mind.  I then started thinking of different types of workouts that I have never done, and yoga came to mind.  Now, I have thought about doing yoga many times before, but if I’m being honest, I like to push myself when I work out, and I have always thought of yoga as more stretching, rather than working…
