    Goodbye for now

Well it is now the end of term, which is so crazy for me to believe. Even though my cooking recipe blog posts may stop here I will be continuing to grow my culinary skills. I look forward to trying this recipes again and using new technology to advance my cooking skills. The reason I chose to further my cooking skills is because I found living by myself there was no enjoyment for cooking. Most of the time when I  would go grocery shopping I often filled my cart with all ready made meals and cheap ramen. This project taught me that there is more to learn then just the…

The power of learning from others

I have benefited from this class in a huge way. Before I would have said I was pretty beginner level when it came to adding link and pictures into my blogs and using the internet to educate myself but now I would say I feel I am pretty novice level. Obviously my journey of learning about educational technology does not end here, having good technology programs in my classroom has now become something that I think is really important. The only issue I faced this term about learning about technology is keeping up with the posts of others, I will not lie the comment area was a big slack for me…

    My AI life

I personally love AI and I use it almost everyday, when I am looking to use AI my go to is Chat GPT. I love the game word crossing and sometimes I can not figure out the words with the letters they give me so I ask AI. Using AI like this is harmless but having my students being able to access AI could be a future problem in my class. Teaching students to properly use AI will be brought up in my teaching as a future teacher. AI is the new technology and it isn’t going away anytime soon by showing my students how to properly use it, it…

    Digital footprints

I was 12 years old when I first got Facebook, personally I think this was way too young to start my digital footprint. A digital footprint “refers to the trail of data you leave when using the internet. It includes websites you visit, emails you send, and information you submit online. A digital footprint can be used to track a person’s online activities and devices. Internet users create their digital footprint either actively or passively” (Kaspersky resources). Even though my parents warned me that everything that goes onto the internet stays on the internet I was not mature enough to truly understand what was aloud to be posted and what…

    Digital Literacy

I believe teaching digital literacy at a young age is important, since the child most likely will not be mature enough to comprehend what they see online or on TV. When I am out and about I constantly see children watching YouTube on their parents or own phone. Having an understanding of what is safe, true statements, scams or just what they watch is important. Teaching children about digital footprints, digital citizenship and cybersecurity are just a few examples of things that everyone that has access to the internet should know. After viewing the websites Can you spot the fake news headline, Spot the troll, and Break fake news it opens your eyes…

    Influenced by TiK Tok

When the same tik Tok keeps showing up on your for you page its only a matter of time until you are like I can do this. Well that’s what happened to me, Tanghulu kept showing up with someone taking a nice big crunch out of the fruit. I Had to try it! Tanghulu is a “traditional Chinese snack that consists of skewered fruits, typically hawthorn berries or other fruits such as strawberries, grapes, or kiwi, coated in a layer of hard, translucent sugar. The sugar coating gives tanghulu a shiny, glossy appearance and a sweet, crunchy texture. Tanghulu is popular during holidays and festivals in China and is also…

    Shrimply the best

My boyfriend and I are huge pasta lovers as you can tell from my previous post about Olive Garden! We like to treat ourselves regularly with comfort meals and this shrimp pasta was the perfect recipe for that. The reason we also like pasta is that it’s a quick meal to make and you can be creative with it by adding different types of vegetables or meats/fish. When I have a full day of work and school the last thing I want to do is cook an extravagant meal that takes hours to prep and cook. Even though this meal took maybe 30 mins it still feels like you are…

What do you call a pig that does karate?

My mom recently bought a lake front cabin and being by the water in the summer calls for some great bbq. I don’t know if anyone else can relate but I am a true believer that food tastes better when its cooked at the lake. To satisfy my taste buds at the lake I was on the hunt for an awesome marinade for all sorts of meat. I remember as a child when my mom would say pork chops are for supper I would react like this meme attached below:  If you feel this way, I promise you won’t anymore with this pork chop marinade recipe. I got this recipe from…

    Feeling Saucy

I love creamy pasta, and Italian food is always a hit in my household. It was a windy day here in Saskatchewan but is anyone really surprised about that… no really? I did not want to leave my house because I figured I would have blown away and then I wouldn’t have been able to write this blog post for you. I needed some comfort food from Olive Garden and skip the dishes is expensive so I decided it can’t be that hard. So I tempted to make the Olive Garden fettuccine Alfredo sauce recipe. I had a little error which I will explain later but other then that this…

    Choreographing a dance through code

One thing about me is that I love music and dancing so when I saw they had a coding option that explored my interests it got me hooked. The website Hour of Code allows the viewer to watch tutorials and contains activities that are designed to be engaging and accessible to students of all ages and skill levels. The main thing that I liked about this app is that it seemed beginner level I did not have to have prior knowledge to coding. The app also manages to have a wide variety of different activities making it easier for teachers to tailor the experience to their students’ interests and abilities, making…
