How To Use Technology in the Classroom: Benefits & Effects
It was fun to put on the ‘Devil’s Advocate’ hat and disagree with the idea that technology is an enhancement to classroom learning. It provided areas of self-reflection within my own teaching/tech practices. I would completely agree with you that technology is an enhancement to learning, but it can’t be a replacement for teachers/educators. Despite my passionate pleas about time waste, technology is a very efficient tool for addressing the varying needs and levels that I see in the classroom. As a teacher, I have played and explored the varying AI tools that I am aware of and have access to. I can see the possibility for efficiency, but I am still hesitant to jump wholly into the adoption of AI. There is potential for unintentional cultural bias, and the products can be impersonal. All that saved time could be rewarded with more work – https://archive.is/tYowR
I appreciate listening over reading, thanks for the audio blog!
Thanks Dustin to listening to my blog!
Thanks for sharing this insightful audio! I really appreciated how it emphasized that technology enhances learning when used intentionally by great teachers. The points about personalized learning, instant feedback, and making abstract concepts tangible really resonated with my experience in a 1:1 classroom. Technology can transform education, but only as a tool—strong teaching and human connection remain essential. Looking forward to hearing what stood out most to you!
Thanks for your comment Kaela, I agree that it can be so good but also its a “tool” and can not eliminate the human connection. In my area of nursing there AI can never replace the soft skills that needed such as empathy, love, and compassion:)
