Children’s Books

Jingle Dancer by Cynthia Leitich Smith

I came across this story in my ECS 100 Field experience. It is a beautiful story that discusses the importance keeping Indigenous culture alive.

When The Shadbush Blooms by Carla Messinger and Susan Katz

This is an engaging story that the students of my ECS 100 Field placement loved. They found it relatable and was an excellent resource to discussing the concepts of past, present, future and Indigenous ways of knowing.
