Last week, I have stated that I will purchase a modified pen specifically for my learning project. I looked at amazon and found out that modified pen spinning pens are expensive!
Obviously, I have to make my own modified pen instead of purchasing this! I will feel good about myself if I accomplish this project.
Plus, I don’t think they are that difficult to make so I went ahead and find materials that I could use for this project.
Is having a modified pen necessary?
In my opinion, I don’t think you need a modified pen to learn pen spinning. As you all have seen on my previous blogs, I used regular pen and pencils to learn pen spinning. Having a pen with balanced weight on opposite sides helps in mobility since it makes the pen spin better. One thing that modified pens fall back to is when you are in a class. Obviously, you don’t want to pull out a modified pen during a class as it will be distracting instead of helping you focus. Another reason is I would want to pen spin on a pen that I am using for writing during class than switching to a different pen.
In this video, I am going to show you all how I made my modified pen. I did not buy anything. I made it using the things on my study table!
I also created this video using Clipchamp! the application that I explored on my other blog!
I tried following a tutorial by Pen Stock, but it meant buying materials which defeats the purpose of not buying a modified pen from amazon or any stores.
I really enjoyed making this video. It was a fun experience even though I got wounded from the cutter! For next week, I will learn the “Thumbaround” using a tutorial by Quniverse! Of course, I will use my very own modified pen!
This is so creative Jozelle! I’m glad you were able to save some money by making your modified pencil for pen spinning!
I never would have guessed this was a thing… LOL! I am looking forward to seeing some pen spinning! Creative idea!
