Last week, I have mastered (sort of) the “thumbaround” technique. It was not easy, but I pulled through. I could pretty much do it every time now with lesser mistakes every spin.
This week I want a new challenge this week that I can spend a couple days on to master, and hopefully by the end of the reading week, I could show you all that I did it!
Now, I have always wondered how drummers spin their drumsticks. I am always fascinated on how they move their fingers that fast!
Not only that it looks cool, but it also adds to drummer charisma I guess!!
And it seems easy enough to learn since it only uses two fingers.
I found out that this trick is called “Charge.” I got to learn that I have actually learned this. It was my very first trick that I have showcased in my learning project. This one, however, will not include the thumb as a flicker (starter of the spin). Instead, I will be using my middle and ring finger to do it. This one is also infinite spins. Unlike the first trick that stops every spin, this one is continuous. This will be a challenge for me since my middle and ring fingers are still a bit stiff. The tricks I have learned so far mostly uses the thumb, index, and a bit of the middle finger.
Reading the definition of this technique from Pen Spinning Wiki that this particular trick is used in combos. Hopefully once I master this technique, I will attempt to learn some combos!
I found this video tutorial of infinite charge spin by KTrinh93. This video will be my guide to master this technique. Hoping to show you all some progress by next week! I am also planning to make another modified pen, probably made of pen instead of pencil. We will see!!
