This week I decided to use TikTok again to find a recipe to make. I decided to try searching for some sandwich recipes since I need to improve my at-home sandwich game. During this learning project, I haven’t made any lunch recipes so I thought this would be the perfect time to explore sandwich recipes. I found so many different types that looked so yummy but The Grinder Sandwich stood out to me the most. A few months ago this sandwich recipe went viral so I decided to test if it was worth the hype.
This recipe I found was from a new creator called Britscookin. She is a cooking creator on TikTok and has 1.7 million followers and 35.2 million likes. Although the recipe video she gave did not have exact measurements, I think this recipe calls for you to just eyeball it. I think depending on your taste you can make this recipe cater to you. If I liked spicy food I would’ve added more red chilli flakes, pepperoncini, and pepper. On the other hand, I decided to leave tomatoes out of my sandwich because I don’t particularly enjoy plain tomatoes on my sandwiches. Although I followed this recipe, I also did not use the same deli meats on my sandwich. I used salami, turkey, ham, and chicken. I also did not have red wine vinegar so I just used regular vinegar.
Here are the steps I followed:
Gathered my ingredients.
Cut my garlic. Added butter, garlic, garlic powder, and dried parsley to a bowl. Mixed.
Add garlic butter to French bread loaf. Put that in the oven for a couple minutes at 350 degrees fahrenheit till butter is melted.
We have a fresh parsley plant. My mom taught me this trick. Take a greater and pick the parsley stems. Put it through the hole and pull. It will separate the leaves from the stems.
Add mayo, mustard, vinegar, garlic powder, parsley, salt, pepper, pepperoncini juice and Italian seasoning to a bowl. Mix.
Cut lettuce, red onion, and pepperoncini.
Add vegetables to the dressing. Mix.
Put cheese on bread and back in the oven until melted.
Add deli meats to the bread and put it back into the oven to get it warmed up.
Add vegetables mixed in the dressing onto the bread. Slice it to the serving portion of your choice.
Enjoy!
I enjoyed this recipe and plan to make it again. I served it to my mom, sister, and her friend. They all gave it a 10/10! I have always struggled to make sandwiches that taste as good as they do when I order them from restaurants. I will say that this is the first time I have made a sandwich that tastes better than from restaurants. It is possible! This recipe is great to serve for a family or at a party. You can adjust the serving sizing to whatever you would like. It also has flavour while not being to spicy or salty. It is also very filling as well and includes all of the different food groups! This was also a really easy recipe as the hardest part was cutting the vegetables. I am really glad I made this recipe. I will be doing this again in the future. Thank you for reading and I hope you all try making this sandwich as well!
Hello!
This sandwich looks amazing, I will definitely be making it sometime! I have never heard of the “grinder sandwich” before, so I am going to look it up tonight while I am doing my Tik Tok scrolling!
Great post! Excited to see what else you make with the few weeks that we have left with out blog post!
Wow! This looks fantastic! I love tiktok recipes, I have so many saved, just need to find the time to make them all (and the money!) I have not heard of the grinder sandwich but I will be adding this to my list of saved recipes. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Jules!
The Grinder Sandwich looks yummy and trendy for TikTok! I also like to eyeball or reduce/add more of certain ingredients in my recipes. Tomatoes are not my favourite sandwich topping, so they would not be on mine either. Keep up the fantastic work and blog posts!
Hello Jules, Your Grinder Sandwich looks delicious. I love sandwiches. My favorite sandwich is from subway. I feel i need to try my own recipe following your blog instead of buying from outside. Thanks for sharing.

You should try making it at home! I have never been able to replicate Subway sandwiches, but this one beats them!
Now that’s a Sandwich!
This looks tasty! I will definitely be turning to this recipe whenever I want a leveled-up sandwich! (Although, I would have to load it up with far more meat if I was making it for my family though. Like an absurd amount lol.)
