Just “Google It.”

Time that is spent scrolling Facebook or Pinterest in copious amounts, far out weighs the time spent for educational or productive purposes. I am the type of person that can waste an hour, or two or three, and have barely looked up from whatever it is I’m enthralled in.  I use YouTube as well but I use it for school research purposes, videos, advice on how to complete certain tasks,

DIY projects and of course, music.  These three I would use the most, for more personal use than not, or time wasters as I like to call them.  Considering the time our faces are berried in our phones or laptops, it’s safe to say that social media has taken over for a lot of people.  I google a lot of things research wise but also random questions that I can get quick answers for.  I have become dependent on barely having to think or search anyone out.  Why would I do that, when I can just “Google it.” I regularly use UR Courses and Prairie South School Division sites for school/work purposes but these five things I can honestly say are my only day to day use.  One thing that has done wonders for my concentration and time management, is using a timer.  I will use it for school work endurance which has been very helpful, and also for switching gears with things that I tend to stay with for too long.  I highly recommend using one, if you have issues with wasting valuable time on social media platforms or the like.

We have become fully dependent on technology.  It is an amazing tool that brings a few cons along with it.  I think there is a different type of growth that happens for children as well as adults, with hands on learning and the exchanges that happen.  A google search for videos and information, is quick and easy but just doesn’t measure the same.  Our world has become about convenience and the fastest way to do things. Technology is able to accomplish that for us but also leaves us trying to figure out a new life balance.
