EAE 201 – Introduction to Arts Education
In this class, I learned how Arts Education is much more than just a subject — it’s also a meaningful approach to teaching that can help engage students in creative and personal ways. I explored what makes an aesthetic experience special and how those experiences can be built into learning, not only in arts classes but across different subjects. I gained a better understanding of how dance, drama, music, and visual art connect to the Saskatchewan curriculum and how they can be used to support student learning and growth. Through activities, planning, and reflection, I learned how to create lessons that encourage inquiry, creativity, and connection to community. This course also helped me see how important it is to give students space to experience and express themselves through the arts while making learning fun, meaningful, and inclusive.
