The Learning Journey With Multiple Destinations

I absolutely LOVED working on my learning project. Cooking seems like such a simple thing, but for me it is a challenge. After this project though I am proud to say I have learned some cooking skills and other useful skills that I plan to use forever.

Week One

Everyone Has to Eat

I focused on laying out my game plan for this learning project, as well as just learning how to blog properly.

Week Two

Going Outside The Box… Literally

This week I made tomato basil chicken. I focused on learning how to use Pinterest for finding recipes. I also was able to learn how to use my crockpot and a pasta maker I got!

Week Three

Cooking Is Complicated!

This was my favorite week during my learning project! The meal I made was sooooo tasty and I really had to go out of my comfort zone. I again used Pinterest to find my recipes for meatballs and rice. I also had to use Google to find instructions for a rice maker I had bought.

Week Four

Tasty TikTok

Okay I lied before… THIS was my favorite week! I made my first ever TikTok and was able to see what all the hype is about! It was sooooo much fun and actually really really easy to make. The recipe turned out to be super tasty too.

Week Five

Why Aren’t Cookies Called Bakies?

Baking isn’t technically cooking, but I decided to make cookies this week. I was feeling inspired after creating my TikTok the week before so I decided to use TikTok to find a recipe instead of Pinterest. The recipe for my cookies was a 30 second TikTok and it was so easy to find. I didn’t have to spend hours scrolling Pinterest seeing what links actually worked. I came across the recipe by accident and next thing I knew I was making cookies for my learning project.

Week Six

Boomerang BBQ

I have always really liked how Boomerangs looked. This week I chose to challenge myself to create a boomerang of my cooking journey. I made three different boomerangs and I was super proud of how they turned out. It was a really easy app to use and it made the final product look so much better than a basic video or picture.

Overall this learning journey was about more than just learning how to cook. I learned how to use different types of technology like Pinterest, TikTok, Google, Boomerit, and my cellphone camera. I had to figure out how to use the Snip Tool on my computer to take screen grabs. I learned how to resize photos so they could be uploaded to my blog. In 6 weeks I learned how to cook for myself, use technology to the best of my abilities, as well as tried out new apps that I could use in my future classroom. My cooking learning journey has grown me in many many positive ways.
