Curriculum Development

As we have learned through lecture and this weeks reading, the curriculum is developed mainly based off of government officials. Many members come together as they decide the specific details to be placed within. This being said, rarely is there ever multiple teachers creating this curriculum. I question why it is created this way. The teachers are the ones that teach the curriculum, and often have input based off of past experiences. However, these individuals are the ones with the smallest voice. To me, this seems unfair. It does not make sense to add in currently beliefs, values and ideas, from individuals outside of the education environment. I am aware that there is no way to change this. However, as a future educator, it concerns me that we have little to no say in what is put into our curriculum.
