Hey, It’s Me!

I grew up in Grunthal, Manitoba, a small town near Winnipeg on Treaty 1 Territory. Before beginning a new career path in education, I was a hairstylist for over 6 years! I loved where I worked and the connection I had with people, but I always felt there was something else for me out there. Moving to Regina at the end of August 2022 to be closer to my partner and attend the University of Regina marked a major turning point in my life. All the life lessons I had experienced up until that point had never quite made sense, and now I feel like I have discovered a major part of myself through learning to be an educator! Adjusting to life as a student reminds me to make a conscious effort to be present in the now.

There is so much experience and knowledge to gain from travelling and I am fortunate to have done a fair share throughout my life. Zip lining through the Smoky Mountains, camping in the Redwood Forest, surfing off the west coast of England, and eating gelato in Venice are a few of the highlights! I find joy in a good cup of coffee, sharing a meal with friends, and a cozy night at home.
