Hello Everyone!
My name is Kenzie Behrns. I am enrolled in my third year of the education program at the University of Regina. I am majoring in General Science and minoring in Mathematics.
I reside in Regina, Saskatchewan on Treaty 4 land, traditional lands of the Cree, Saulteaux, Dakota, Nakota, Lakota, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
I was born and raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan which is also situated on Treaty 4 land. I love Moose Jaw because it has such a small-town feel in a growing city. I love the outdoors, playing sports, and hanging out with friends and family. I spend a lot of my time at my family cabin located in Regina Beach, Saskatchewan during the summer and most of my time on an outdoor hockey rink during the winter season. I enjoy coaching sports such as volleyball, basketball and badminton during the school year.
Every time I go back to my hometown you will always find me at Deja Vu Cafe. It is my favourite restaurant of all time because it has a small town cafe vibe with absolutely amazing food! My favourite TV show is Friends because it is such a binge worthy show that always makes me laugh. My favourite scene would have to be the PIVOT scene with Ross, Rachel and Chandler that I have attached below!
I have a little bit of experience with educational technology, but not much. I like to use educational resources like Canva, Word, PowerPoint and all the features with Google! I also think that YouTube videos have many educational purposes as well! I have never blogged before so I am excited and nervous about how blogging will go! I like the idea of blogging because it is an informal way to express your own thoughts and feelings towards something and provides a way for everyone to interact with each other especially when it is an online class!
Hi Kenzie, thank you for introducing yourself and I am excited to learn alongside you this semester. After reading some of the blog posts I can see how many of us are perusing our education degree. I also live in Regina and I appreciate your acknowledgment to Treaty 4 as this is so important for us to be incorporating into our daily life. I also was born and raised in a small town and being in my hometown brings such peace and calmness, something about homeland and a small town calms me and brings me back down whenever something is happening around me. I love that you mentioned Déjà vu Café, this is my favourite place and I will drive to Moosejaw just for that place I recommend it to everyone! I hope you have a wonderful week, take care!
