Summary of Learning: Kipp’s Masterpiece Theatre Presents: Cato’s Journey
Okay, “masterpiece” is an epic exaggeration, but I thoroughly enjoyed creating this ebook using Bookcreator.com (highly recommend using it with students, too).
Cato’s fantastical learning journey – with an easily identifiable (but unnamed) philosophical guide – mirrors my key learnings from this semester. Thank you, Dr. Katia and classmates, for the discussions, blogs, research, and learning. The way I implement technology in the classroom has evolved for the better.
You can view the book separately from the video here.
I hope you enjoy it, and good luck on your own learning journey!

Thank you for sharing your learning journey! I really enjoyed the platform and the story that you told. Mindful usage of technology has really been the focal point of my learning throughout the semester. It is so easy to lose sight of the purpose that technology has in a classroom, when we are being bombarded with new platforms all the time. Just because something new comes across our desk, doesn’t mean it has meaningful and practical applications for us.
I also appreciated your conclusion to your journey, as it gave me pause for reflection on what my role is as an educator moving forward. Not only is it valuable to evaluate my own usage of technology in the classroom, but it is also important that I help colleagues make informed decisions about what and why they adopt technology into the classroom. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment, Gilbert. Yes, it is definitely important that we continue to share what we have learned in this class – not only in our own classes but in staff meetings and division PD as well. Best wishes!
That is a really interesting way to present your summary Kim! I really liked the format, and more importantly I enjoyed that you created a narrative. I think we sometimes are afraid to take risks in these classes, especially under a time crunch, but I think your presentation was all the better for it. It illustrates the point of this course: meaningfully integrating technology into classroom instruction that improves the learning/teacahing experience. Good luck in your future classes, I enjoyed working with you as a group member.
Thank you, Matt. I always enjoy these summary of learning projects because they allow for freedom like narrative writing. Last time I wrote and performed my own slam poetry. This seemed less daring, but just as fun. HA! It was awesome to learn from and work with you this term as well. Best wishes!
This is amazing! Great summary of your learning over the semester and very creative. The work you put into this course has been very evident and I have really enjoyed reading your thoughts and blog posts.
Thank you for your kind words, Brittney. It has been a pleasure learning with you all. Best wishes!
