This week, the extreme cold had me in hibernation mode and craving soup. So, I went to Pinterest and looked up soup recipes. I came across a Creamy Dill Pickle Soup recipe and was immediately intrigued. The recipe was posted on the blog Clara quick dinners which is a personal blog made by a woman named Clara. She has a large collection of recipes to try organized into the following categories:
- Pasta & Noodles
- Beef
- Chicken
- Soups
- Seafood
I really enjoy using Pinterest as a tool to access online resources that I would likely not find without the well curated algorithm.

Making the Soup
I chose to make this Creamy Dill Pickle Soup because I absolutely LOVE dill pickles and creamy soups! The recipe was very easy to follow because the instructions were written in point form. As I was cooking I added in a few extra ingredients that I had in my fridge including:
- dill pickle cream cheese
- leftover ham
- spinach
- extra cream
By adding in different ingredients, I was able to gain more confidence in making adjustments to recipes so they work for my kitchen and pantry! It was felt really good to use up the spinach that I was avoiding in the back of my fridge!
Enjoying the Soup
I enjoyed this soup with my family as they got home from the cold outdoors. It was very comforting and warming on a freezing day! I plan on making this soup again when I have an almost empty jar of pickles with pickle juice!

With this cold weather, I love the fact you made a delicious soup, and that everyone enjoyed it. I love Pinterest for recipes also, I will maybe take a look at personal blogs as I didn’t even realize that was a thing. Your soup looks dreamy also!

I’ve been on a bit of a fried pickle kick lately, and the title of this post immediately intrigued me. What an interesting soup! I have a kiddo that hates soup with a passion, but she loves pickles, so maybe this could lure her to the dark side. Definitely saving the recipe to try later!

The cold weather is brutal! That soup looks absolutely delicious. I love that you’re gaining confidence in making substitutions with your ingredients. It can be beneficial when you have only ingredients in the fridge that need to be used up!

This looks absolutely delicious! With the awful weather lately, the thought of coming home to a warm bowl of soup is so comforting. I completely agree with Carys, it’s amazing to see you gaining confidence in the kitchen and making your own substitutions! As a fellow pickle enthusiast, I’m right there with Kendra, this recipe is definitely getting saved for later!
