So I’ll be honest, this week wasn’t the greatest in terms of productivity. I had a lot of assignments due during the beginning of the week and then I got sick mid way through the week. However, we must press on, so I tried my best with what time I had.
I continued to work on algorithms this week through a new website called Cubing Cheat Sheet. You can find the page I used to learn here. This website is very similar to others, which is great as it fits my learning style well. They have many options for algorithms to use, which is the main thing I look for as it allows me to choose the one best suited for me. I was able to learn about 6 algorithms this week which isn’t a ton, but again I didn’t have a whole lot of time to dedicate to my learning project this week due to my assignments and unfortunate sickness. I also only have 8 more algorithms to learn before I have learned all of them. I also continued using the Jperm trainer to practice my recognition and execution of the algorithms.
My best average for this week was as follows: (30.21), 21.61, (19.89), 23.82, 22.09 = 22.51 seconds. The solves can be seen in the video below.
So I didn’t get many solves in this week but the ones I did get in were pretty decent, with most of my times falling between 20-25 seconds. The algorithms I have learned are playing a big role in my times as well as just general practice. I think that with the month we have left this semester I can get my times down to under 23 seconds consistently as I am already getting a lot of averages under 23 seconds now. Next week I hope to finish learning all the algorithms and move on to other things that can also help improve my solves. I will share more details then.
I hadn’t come across your blog yet in my commenting and I am so glad that I did this week!!! I think the idea of learning to solve a cube is awesome and its so cool seeing you improve in practices. Keep working!!!
Hey Kamden!
This is extremely impressive, 22 seconds!
Well done! Keep up the good work 🙂
I cannot solve a rubix cube and I have tried way to many times. I actually had a student that would do this in the classroom and every day they would try to beat their record! The fastest they completed it was in 13 seconds! Very impressive, keep up the great work
SO cool! I also have not been able to solve the rubix cube either, but I remember Will Smith in the Pursuit of Happiness solve it which helped him get a job. You are doing it in 20-25 seconds which is extremely impressive, keep it up!
