"Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried something new"
Teaching Philosophy
I believe in…
Creating a safe & welcoming space for all learners regardless of their race, sexuality, ability, gender, and socioeconomic status.
Meeting the diverse needs of all students by offering differentiated instruction and assessment and focusing on strengths/abilities rather than deficits.
Supporting each aspect of wellness for each child in my class including their emotional, physical, mental, and social wellbeing.
Making learning a fun, hands-on, and experience based process that provides opportunities for students to explore and learn on their own terms.
Making mistakes. Making mistakes is a natural part of the learning process.
Incorporating other ways of learning from various cultures and perspectives.
Being a calm presence in the lives of my students. Learning can only happen when students are regulated emotionally.
