Mapping Introduction

Hi everyone aside from my who am I this is a little mapping introduction about me!

Mapping Intro:

Hi everyone my name is Kylie Seib and my pronouns are she/her. I was born and raised here on treaty 4 land in Regina, Saskatchewan. Across the street from my house is a small parking. When looking outside at this small park, I watch the trees swaying in the wind. Also near my house is this pathway that I have a lot of great memories of waking down. Some of these memories include going to school and walking to go sledding in the winter. However, there is one memory for me that I always remember when walking down this path and that is with the crabapple trees that grow there. As I child I loved walking down it and seeing these trees change through the seasons and when the apples finally grew on the tree, I would pick the apples off and my mom would make a pie out of them. However, as I got older, and kept walking down this path I started to learn and understand indigenous perspectives, I found that I was very set in these Eurocentric ways that I had learned and would just take these apples off of the tree. Now when walking by it I think about it with more of an indigenous perspective and that I should give thanks before taking something that mother nature has provided me with. When I get to the end of this path I am still hit with a lot of Eurocentric ways as right to my right is the mall, restaurants, and other business.
