For my personal teaching philosophy, I believe in utilizing social constructivist theories. Social constructivist theories allow students to learn through social interaction and allow teachers to see what students are able to do on their own. These practices allow for students to build strong connections with their classmates and be able to strengthen their understanding of topic with classmates. Social constructivist theories, like the Zone of proximal development created by Vygotsky, focus on what students can learn alone and what we can learn together. By utilizing these practices, I will be able to fully show students full competencies and lead their own education.
