Dipping My Toe Into the “Blogosphere”
Hello reader,
My name is Lauren Buist and I am from Waldeck Saskatchewan. I recently graduated from the University of Regina with my degree and took a job teaching grade 1 at Waldeck School. This job is proving to be the most exhausting but rewarding thing I have ever done.
Technology in education has come leaps and bounds since I attended elementary school. Chrome books at the fingertips of every kid, smart boards/panels, ipads, document cameras, etc. What happened to the overhead projector? Though I can work a computer, I definitely wouldn’t claim to be technologically savvy in any way, shape or form. However, as an educator, I am extremely appreciative of the fact that there is a world of resources at my fingertips.
Blogging is not something that I have ever pursued as a creator. Yet, I do find blogs helpful when I am looking for inspiration, ideas, or just plain wondering how to put something into practice in my classroom. There is one blog that I do follow and turn to for ideas consistently which is 3Peaks Classroom. Tips, tricks, planning, you name it. Even a Canadian creator! Yes, you heard that right!
As a whole, I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge in the world of technology and hopefully gaining a better understanding of education and technology regarding how they intersect. Plus who am I kidding? A Google Doc full of resources and ideas is something I wouldn’t ever turn down.
