Volunteer Work

I was lucky enough to return to my high school to volunteer coach the junior girl’s basketball team as well as the soccer team. I had a blast coaching and mentoring the students, and was super honoured to be invited back as a Johnson alumni.

I also spent two seasons volunteering as a coach for Regina Mini’s Rugby, which was also a super fun time. I volunteered with the 3-5 year old age group which was a great learning experience and has inspired me to want to teach pre-kindergarten.

Growing up, I attended Kenosee Summer Band Camp (yes, you read that right, band camp) for many years. I was lucky enough to get to volunteer as a counsellor in training for one year, and as a senior counsellor for three years. Band camp truly is the best memory of my childhood summers, and I was so fortunate as a counsellor to get to witness other campers experience this feeling as well.

My fellow band camp counsellors. This was my final year as a counsellor, it was super emotional leaving this camp for the final time. I have so many amazing memories of these people and this place. It’s an experience I am truly so thankful for, and I will remember those summers forever.
