I don’t often get to see my family. So, we all had a lot of fun working on this video together.
Credits:
Voiceover – My mom
Skipper – Ryan (My Daughter)
Ken – My Dad
Lizzo (Voice Changer) – I may have had 2 pay $2 for the voice changer, but at least it sounded better than my singing! Ha Ha!
This has certainly been the best class I have had during my master’s degress so far. Thank you all and Katia for the fun!
Omgosh I love that you got the whole family involved! That was awesome. Thank you for your extensive knowledge over the last couple of weeks. I have really learned a lot from you and always appreciated your view on things!
Such a great post! It seems like the whole family participated in this course, and their performance in the video was commendable. It’s a Great Idea!! You are extremely intelligent and, most importantly, experienced. I wish I could learn more from you. Thank you so much for your great contribution to this course.
Thanks for the kind words, Kavita. I am always open to conversation and collaboration. Feel free to reach out any time to chat or work together.
LOVED THIS! Also love that your whole fam got involved too! I know your mom was excited about the debates, so I’m sure this was blast to make! Great job!
I loved your video Carol! What a creative idea. I think you summarized our course so well and in such a fun way. Great work. Have a wonderful summer!
I really enjoyed watching your video today in our last class and viewing your blog posts throughout the course. You have a lot of expertise and knowledge on these topics that were discussed in the course and I appreciated the additional resources you provided. Excellent video and kudos to you for being so creative! Congrats on completing this course and good luck with your future endeavors!
Carol, this was amazing! It was both hilarious and informative. I love how you got your family involved in your project as well! The song was also great. When I was first watching, I seriously was thinking, “Wow she sounds just like the original singer,” and then I learned it was you singing with a voice changer- what a great idea!
Carol, this was such an entertaining and unique presentation of your learning! I’ve really enjoyed learning from you in the classes we’ve had together; you bring a unique perspective that I always enjoy hearing. I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer break and soak up all of the family time you can while you’re back in Canada.
Sorry, I forgot to add my name. The above comment is from Amy.
I couldn’t stop smiling while we watched this in class! It’s hilarious and cute while also being jam packed with information. I love that you managed to keep it in Barbie theme throughout the interview as well! Cudous to you for taking on such a creative idea, and executing it perfectly! Great work Carol!
Wow Wow Wow.
Carol I just loved your learning summary video, or should I say SHOW. I must say I have never seen such a cute barbie talking show about educational technology. You have managed to include your opinion related to contemporary issues of educational technology. I thoroughly enjoyed your video and loved your singing.
I loved your idea and how you included your young cousin too. Being a Grade 5 teacher, I feel her comments to be very inspiring and thoughtful. I loved your mom’s voiceover. Thanks for being part of this amazing course.
Haha! That little sweetie is my daughter, Ryan. She is in Canada for the summer with me to hang out with her grandparents. That is why we made the joke about her VR making it feel like she was in Canada. Vacation almost over though! We will be heading to China again soon.
Your video is both creative and engaging! I particularly love how you involved your family, making the learning experience enjoyable and relatable. The main takeaway for me is your ability to blend educational content with fun and creativity, making complex topics accessible. What inspired you to use the Barbie theme for this project, and how do you think such creative approaches can impact student engagement and learning in the classroom?
I actually did a full Barbie movie unit this academic year with my G12s. We had a lot of conversations about the inequality. So, I was thinking about the allusion to the Space Odyssey and how to use it. After a bit of searching, I found that iPhone commercial, and I was sold. My students are the ones who inspire me to be a lot more creative to be honest. IB gives them freedom to find their own pathways. They are always surprising me with their interests.
