Mapping Introduction

Hi everyone, my name is Mackenzie Dillabaugh and this is my map. I grew up on Treaty 4 territory. I enjoy both man made places and natural places. To start my map is a crossway between my home and the dance studio. If I am not at home I am usually at the studio, and vice-versa. Following down the map is the ranch. The ranch is located very south of Saskatchewan. I spend lots of time there whether it is crop, chickens, sheep, or cows (my favourite). The ranch is located in a gorgeous part of the province where I love to drive or walk around to see the different wild animals and scenery. Next on my map is school. Currently that is the university, but school has been a large factor in my life since the age of 5 and will continue to be as I work towards being a future educator. I next chose to put coffee shops because I often tend to study at different ones in the city or go with friends to chat. The gym and work come next on my map as I love spending time at both. The gym is my favourite part of my morning routine and work is a necessity which I have always enjoyed doing.

I recently moved to Regina for school three years ago. For the last three years I forgot some of my core memories that are a big part of my map. First being Douglas Provincial Park and the Sand Dunes. My family and I spend lots of time there, in fact every year we got together as a big family with my aunt and cousins and spent a couple weeks camping, enjoying nature. Riverhurst Is a lake where my family often go fishing. Getting back into fishing with my dad has allowed me in a sense to go back to my roots. Sitting on the lake watching the pelicans and listening to the splashing water has always been a calm place for me and one of my favourite pieces of nature. Lastly on my map is my hometown of Swift Current, also located on Treaty 4. As a reflect on my map I realized the impact my hometown has on who I am today and where lots of my memories are. Many of my friends, where I went to school, and many core memories have been created.
