The Daily Life of Mackenzie + Technology

Welcome, fellow blog followers 🙂

Have you ever considered all the different types of technology you use in your daily life? Follow along with me as I share my day on Tuesday, May 13, and reflect on how much I truly rely on technology.

IT’S HONESTLY CRAZY!!

Here we gooooooooo…..

Guess what I used first thing in the morning??

YES, OF COURSE… MY PHONE! SHOCKER! I began my morning by responding to my alarm – an app I use on my iPhone that screams at me to GET UP! I use this app each morning to make it to work on time! After snoozing my alarm multiple times, I begin my morning scrolling my phone – another shocker, right? I bet you didn’t see that one coming. You were probably thinking I was already out of bed. Joke’s on you! ;p

Snap Snap -“send”

Scroll Scroll – “like”

Scroll Scroll – “creep”

You guessed it! Before getting out of my cozy bed, I was already invested in Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook. Pretty wild how much technology I already used…. and I haven’t even left my bed yet.

Before the day gets busy, I try to read a little (productive technology use in my opinion) using the Kindle app. Yes, another form of technology used before noon! Some mornings I’ll use the app Amazon Prime while I get ready because why not multitask and get an episode of my FAVOURITE show in, right? Multitasking queen, hehe.

Now it’s time to get to work. Yup, you got it right. I use yet another form of technology to prove I actually arrived at work on time called Inclusions. Why use paper? That would be silly. We aren’t in 1900 anymore, jeeeezzz, get with it!

Speed Forward!!!! 12 hours later…

Time to relax.. You bet more technology use.

I played some music on the Apple Music app and worked away on my blog post by using Google Docs. I also had to log into the Uregina course page, and I checked my personal emails on the Gmail app. Lastly, I posted my blog on Educites.

Distractions? OH yes! Between writing, I checked Snapchat, Instagram, and probably scrolled Facebook….just because.

Before I forget, I also had my phone on me all day and I wore my Apple Watch, which are two forms of technology that are basically glued to me.

On a positive note! I implemented the use of the “downtime” function on my iPhone!! Rather than scrolling at bedtime, I read.

By the end of the day, I used 9 different forms of technology (over and over) throughout the day. If you think about it, isn’t that bonkers? Let’s be honest, the majority of the technology I used was for my pleasure!

Back in the day, people read the physical newspaper, but now I scroll through an app on my phone to find out the biggest news.

I have it all in the palm of my hand.

Toodloo, for now.
