Internship – Central Collegiate

Teacher Intern                                                                          September – December 2022    

Prairie South School Division, Central Collegiate Institute 

 

Taught Français 30, Psychologie 30, Français 10 and Health 90. 

 

• Provided professionally-delivered lessons, with differentiated instruction, and extensive feedback and guidance for learners. 
• With my cooperating teachers feedback, made immediate changes and goals to improve my teaching practice. 
• Maintained a productive learning environment by building strong relationships with my students and creating classroom routines by outlining the daily agenda and expectations.
• Monitored students’ academic progress, providing tools and strategies to improve achievement. 
• Built very strong relationships with many students in the school, not only those in my classes or on the teams I coached, but also throughout the school by visiting other teachers’ classes to observe, and interacting with students during intramurals at lunch.  
• Attended sports events on my own time to build relationships with students and show support for the school community as a whole. 
• Demonstrated respect for all students and promoted an accepting and inclusive school environment. 

 

 

Extracurricular activities:

Helped coach both the Junior and Senior Boys Volleyball teams at CCI from September-November 2022.

 

This experience allowed me to form strong relationships with many students in the school, and many of the players were in some of the classes I taught during my internship. I was also able to refine skills necessary to succeed as a classroom teacher, such as varying instruction of drills to fit student-athlete’s learning styles and use various management strategies.
