Teaching Philosophy

Teaching Philosophy

I believe there is a lot worth doing in the classroom setting to help build a successful learning environment. I believe it is worth connecting with students and learning more about everyone aside from just the classroom. Rather than teacher and student, we can begin to see one another as people. I want to encourage questions within the class so no one ever leaves with unclear instructions or a poor understanding of the lesson. I also believe creating relationships with peers and coworkers is of great importance. They can share their thoughts and suggestions on ways to improve and maximize the learning experience for students.

I am still trying to figure out my philosophy of teaching. I believe inclusivity is extremely important in the class. For everyone to be included and understand that they are all of importance is crucial. If someone feels left out and as if they do not belong, it will quickly get in the way of their ability to focus and learn. I believe the classroom should be a safe space for all to learn. I believe the classroom is a live environment and for it to work the way it is intended, it is important for all to do their part. From teacher to student, parent, or principal, everyone plays an important role in the realm of education.
