Becoming a Teacher
I think to be professional is to act to the expectations of your profession. You’re expected to have and display your abilities, qualifications, and skills in your profession. As students spend most of their lifetimes at school, we as educators are contributing to the building of future responsible pupils. Providing a welcoming environment by being reliable and respectful of students’ perspectives contribute to the continuous growth of not only students but as well as educators. Thus, one is a teacher 24 hours a day as we need to mind how we represent ourselves outside the school environment. I think the focus of the direction 2025 document is to display the much effort that is being put into the education system and to ensure that students and teachers get the best experience while in the educational environments. Additionally, to build the trust of parents and have insight as to why they should entrust their children with their educators.
I am extremely excited to learn more about my profession in this class and what it means to be a teacher as there is more to just being a teacher.
