Last learning post :,(

Even though my learning project has come to an end my love for knitting has only just begun!! I still can’t wrap my head around how I was able to teach myself how too knit using only online resources!

Week 1 – Who wants to learn how to knit with me! Yahoo

  • A quick easy way to the introduction of knitting! During this blog post I learned how to “cast on”

Week 2 – Who doesn’t love a good TikTok!!? #knittingrules

  • I hit a road bock with this one but I was able to make a quick turn around! I redid my cast on and I was on my way! My learning resource this time was TikTok!

Week 3 – Time lapse video which then turns into an iMovie!

  • For someone who has all Apple products I was not familiar with iMovie. Through this learning post I was able to teach myself how to to make a movie by using the app “iMovie” #wild

Week 4 – This is only the beginning!

  • Once concluding my first scarf I moved onto the next one! I learned how to “cast off” my first scarf!

Week 5 – Did I do it??

  • Although a time consuming hobby, it allowed me to be relaxed and calm.

Week 6 – Tying MAGIC KNOTS *

  • I learned how to connect two pieces of yarn!

Week 7 – New stitches!!

  • “WAIT…. there is more than one kind of stitch??”

Week 8 – Knitting with your FINGERS!!

  • My favourite post to date!

Week 9 – You heard it here first, I knitted with FLOSS!

  • Although it did not turn out as cool as I had hoped I was still able to practice my kitting with my fingers! I can’t wait to use this is a classroom! (minus the floss) “ya live and ya learn”

Reflection

My end goal was to be able to make a pair of mittens but unfortunately, time is a thief. But on the bright side I was able to adapt and learn something new without falling behind. Just because I did not achieve my end goal within this quick semester does not mean I will not try to make mittens someday. Instead of making mittens, I learned a value technique instead. I taught myself how to knit with my fingers! This part of my learning project was the coolest piece for me because I could really use it in any classroom and teach all students how to knit. I not only learned the art of knitting but I also found a new hobby that relaxed me when times were tough or stressful. I learned to be patient with myself and most importantly I learned that it’s ok to make mistakes. This learning project went above and beyond for me and I am so thankful for how it went!

Thanks for following along everyone!
