    Taco Tuesday!!

Even though this is being posted on a Wednesday I made them on a Tuesday… lol. But this week I wanted to try and make taco’s which are one of my favourite foods to eat and thought I’d give it a try! And just for the record they are super easy to make, I didn’t think they would be difficult but the whole process took me about 20 mins. Just a super quick and easy meal that everyone loves! I got my taco recipe from Betty Crocker which I linked there for you for easy access if you wanted to give it a try! This recipe is super easy to…

    The Success of The Internet

Looking back As I take a look back to when I was younger and growing up, the changes made to technology is huge. I grew up in the early 2000’s so things were just starting to pick up and be more advanced. I remember having VHS tapes and one of those big computers and a t.v. with a big box on the back… haha. But when I look at today’s technology it is insane to think of how far we have come to get to this place. Flat screen t.v’s, iPhones, very thin laptops, doorbell cameras and much, much more. Kids nowadays are exposed to technology like no other. This…

    Stuffed Bell Peppers… Yum

This week I decided I wanted to try and make stuffed bell peppers. I have had stuffed bell peppers in the past but they were always store bought and I wanted to give it a shot and try making it myself! I loove bell peppers they are probably one of my favourite vegetables they are good either cooked, or not cooked. The process of making the bell peppers went pretty smooth and efficient. I feel like I am getting the hang of this cooking thing haha. The only thing I have a struggle with is my time management butttt I am still working on it!! Anyways, to make the stuffed…

Video Making and Cooking All in One?!

For this weeks blog, we had to choose a tool/app that we have not used before in order to document our progress on our learning project. I was a little nervous at first because I am not super tech savvy and thought I would struggle to come up with something. However, when I came across Adobe Spark, it was smooth sailing. I’ve heard of Adobe Spark before but have never used it. I didn’t know what it all consisted of until I did a little research on the tool and explored what it had to offer. It was very simple and easy to use, which is what I like! I…

    Round 2… Here We Go!

This week I had some trouble deciding what exactly I wanted to cook. I was bouncing between two different meals but decided on this one! This weeks meal was a chicken stir fry! I was pretty excited to try this out, although I’ve had something similar to it before, I’ve never made it myself. I was a little nervous though because it was my first time cooking with chicken, alone and I did not want to under cook it because, well, you know what would happen. Thankfully all turned out well! For my stir fry I didn’t go off a recipe, I just googled to get some inspiration and ideas…

    Teachers and Twitter

Over the past few weeks I feel that I have adapted more to the use of Twitter and all the resources that come from it. Don’t get me wrong I am still learning how to function it and what to post on a day to day basis. But from what I have experienced so far, it is a pretty resourceful tool! I noticed that this platform is very educational and not all about celebrities and what’s new in Hollywood. This is a place where people from all over the world share their experiences, problems, solutions and resources to help others. I think Twitter is one of the most used social…

    Exploring Feedly

There are so many sources, articles, and blogs out there that it was a very overwhelming process to find categories that I wanted to take a deeper look at. I eventually found a few articles taking about Inclusive education which is something I want to be more educated on. Reading and following the blogs on Feedly I was able to briefly read over and understand what each blog was about! I am still very new to this website and don’t have the greatest understanding of how everything works quite yet, however, I believe this is a great source for articles, blogs and ways to connect to other readers and writers.…

    Did Someone Say Pasta!?

For my first week learning how to cook I started off strong by making a favourite of mine which is… pasta!! Now, If you’re like me and enjoy being on TikTok (maybe a little too much) then you maybe you’ve come across cooking or baking videos. For me personally I always see this one specific pasta recipe making a vodka sauce and every time I see someone make it, it looks soo good! I thought this was the perfect first dish to make for my project! I will admit I was a little nervous being in charge of making supper for my family because I did not want to mess…

    About Me

Hey there! My name is Melina Palamara and I am in my second year of the preK-5 program here at the University of Regina! I grew up here in Regina and have lived here my whole life. I have all of my friends and family that live here with me, which would make it really hard to move, I do not think I ever could. I am a huge dog person and have a little puppy of my own. Her name is Shila and she is a Shih Tzu, just about 10 years old and probably the most stubborn dog out there! I am a very family oriented person and…

Alright, It’s Time to Learn How to Cook!

Welcome! Glad you can experience this journey with me! I am very excited to begin this learning project for the semester and finally learn how to cook. This is a great way to not make anymore excuses. I have been wanting to learn how to cook for a little while now but never had the ‘time’ or in reality never wanted to put in the effort and try. However, now with this project I cannot wait to begin and document my progress throughout the next few months. Learning how to cook always made me think it was too much work. Buying the ingredients, waiting, prepping, it all seemed like a…
