In my EDTC 300 class, we explored the world of Twitter for the first time. I’ve always had other forms of social medias such as Instagram and Facebook, but I’ve never used Twitter. The concept of Twitter overwhelmed me because I initially thought that Twitter is only for celebrities. However, learning and exploring Twitter made me realize that Twitter can be used by anyone for anything!
The benefit of Twitter is that users can tweet daily and communicate with other users with ease. It is user-friendly for all because it guides the users through all necessary steps such as setting up the profile. I also liked how easy it is to navigate the site— all tabs are on the left hand side (at least for the desktop site it is).
We also took part in SaskEdChat, where educators and future educators come together to answer education related question on Tweetdeck. I was a little overwhelmed by it because there were a lot of people, but I got comfortable right away. We were all greeted by the administrator and began answering questions. It was easy to follow and I enjoyed the session since I could read everybody’s responses at once. This is a great way of engaging students in conversations because the students aren’t forced to speak or answer every single question. I definitely look forward to joining more sessions!
