When I was scrolling through Tik Tok, I found an interesting type of crocheting that I didn’t even know about. It’s called graph crocheting and it’s where you can make any picture by following the picture that is drawn on to a graph. I didn’t even know you could do this type of crocheting. For my learning project I am not trying this but I decided to write a post about it because I would like to learn more about it and to let other people know what this is!
Crochet graphs are visual crochet patterns. Each square on the graph represents one stitch. Instead of following a series of written instructions, you follow a graph. Crochet graphs are used to add designs and images to your crochet project. I learned that each square represents one stitch and each row in your graph equals one row in your crochet project.
I am learning from this site because it easy to read and straightforward. Sometimes when the site has a lot of information and a lot of pictures I find the instructions hard to follow. The site is called wood camper crafts.
I think for graph crocheting you can actually use your own pictures if you convert the picture to a graph. I think that is pretty cool because sometimes I feel bored following someone else’s patterns. I first learnt about this on Tik Tok and I saw someone make a cardigan and some shirts. I wouldn’t say graph crocheting is for beginners but something definitely to learn about.
