Classroom Reflections #2

January 17, 2024

  1. Topics/activities that initiated my reflection – The resources and activity that influenced my reflection this week is from – Some Assessment Strategies by Some Learning Styles, Some Assessment Strategies and Purpose Reflections Chart, Assessment & Multiple Intelligence, and why do we assessment student learning?  From the Some Assessment Strategies by Some Learning Styles, Some Assessment Strategies and Purpose Reflections Chart, and Assessment & Multiple Intelligence I this all these resources are useful for trying/knowing a variety of assessment strategies.  Before taking this class, I was unaware of the many assessment strategies, and this gained knowledge will be helpful for my future teachings.
  2. Content connections: academic knowledge, “educational” experiences & perspectives on assessment material – My “educational” experiences are from last semester with pre-interns – I had more experience with formative assessment with my lessons.  For my three week block this semester, I think that all these resources shared during class will be helpful for me yo use the assessment strategies for my three week block.
  3. Inform & influences for future teaching (need/ learn more about) – I think the resources provided this class will be informative and influence my future teachings, because there are many assessment strategies provided.  I plan on using different assessment strategies to make engaging lessons.
  4. SYMBOL: reminder of reflection – Rubber duck – computer science.  This symbol of the rubber duck will help remind me of this weeks reflection.  Computer scientists use a rubber duck by their desk and ask questions to it when they need help with figuring out a problem with decoding.  I want to use this symbol to help me with choosing the best suited assessment strategies to ensure it is accommodating towards all learners.  I can ask my rubber duck for help and guidance when I come across any problem solving questions.
