My Journey Towards Reconciliation

For my Journey Towards Reconciliation assignment this year I chose to make a video representation. In the video you see me visiting sites around Regina that hold some sort of significance to the Indigenous community, as well as a local elementary and high school. The most moving visit for me was my time spent at the Regina Indian Industrial School Cemetery, it was heartbreaking to stand on the very ground where education was at an all time low, the destruction caused to Indigenous families and their culture can never be forgotten. In the video you will see me placing my orange hand print at each of these sites. I did this to signify my commitment to decolonizing the classroom.
