• I want to practice first saying “I believe you” to my students when they come to me with questions or concerns, and then taking the steps to resolve the problem.
  • I will find ways in my classroom to find “rest and refreshment” through having small mental focused moments (breathing, closing eyes, focusing on senses), creating boundaries, and finding time to fulfill my basic needs (eat, use the bathroom, stretch).
  • I will spend time getting to know my colleagues through learning their interests, teaching styles, and see what I can do to help them (both inside and outside of the school).
  • I will create a classroom environment that provides an opportunity for students to learn their own learning styles, and work towards their own goals and ambitions.
  • I will create a classroom that my students feel safe in and where there is respect held for everyone by everyone through creating boundaries and classroom contracts.
  • I will take time each week to get to know my students at a more personal level, asking about their interests, skills, and their future goals.
  • I will make it a priority to have resources containing a variety of voices and backgrounds of people, and find ways to incorporate learning about one another in my classroom.
