Week 3: Sweet and Savory Creations
This week I decided to use YouTube to find recipes and it made things very simple to follow. I decided on making cinnamon buns!! Which I have only ever made one other time when I was in middle years. I remember I had taken a class at my hometown library and a bunch of us kids got to learn how to make them. This time I obviously did a much better job and surprisingly it wasn’t too time consuming. The only part that takes a long time is letting the dough rise in between steps but I was busy doing other things while I waited on it. I had all the ingredients already at my place as well which made things very simple for me. The recipe below is the one I followed!!
Since my sister’s birthday was earlier this week I ended up bringing her some cinnamon buns and she loved them! I had ended up making a cream cheese icing to put on top of them to which was the perfect finishing touch 🙂
Later in the week I made a chicken broccoli gnocchi recipe, for this one I had some ingredients to use up and it was the perfect recipe to try. I ended up using multiple resources because a lot of them had different ways to make it. I found this video on YouTube which you can now watch if you’d like, in this video that I followed I used broccoli instead of spinach!
After making it I would say it was pretty good. It actually took me a little bit of time but it was worth it in the end. I also documented some of the process below !!!
As it’s now the 3rd week in, I would say so far my learning project is going well. It is pushing me to find more creative recipes to try and things that aren’t too hard but are still fun to make. Next week I would like to try to do some research on cultural foods and attempt to make one myself!
Those both look so good! Cinnamon buns used to be this thing for me that I thought I would never do because it was so much work, but I found out I could make the dough in my breadmaker and it turned out to be so much easier! These look so good and now I am hungry ahaha Thanks for sharing!
This post literally had me drooling girl!! looks so delicious! you’re doing great things!
Hi Olivia! Those cinnamon buns look incredible! It really looks like you are learning so much about cooking and baking! I am jealous that you got to eat those cinnamon buns and I didn’t 🙂
Hi Olivia, Cinnamon rolls are my daughter’s favorite. Thanks for sharing I am going to try that recipe. Your other recipes also looks good. But i am going to try the cinnamon rolls first.
