Week 5: Shared Delights
This week I have been working on catching up on my learning project so I decided to make a simple recipe to try. Me and my roommate had some friends over so I decided to make a dip that everyone can eat! The dip I made is a buffalo chicken dip. It came up on my fyp a while ago on TikTok and my roommate makes so many kinds of dips all the time so I decided to give it a try. The recipe I found was on TikTok. My roommate also gave me some tips on making it which was helpful. I’ve now used TikTok for a few of my learning project posts and I find it’s so much easier to watch a short clip of each creator rather than using other platforms that are much longer to read or watch. I found many different recipes but the one I ended up using seemed a lot easier to follow. I ended up not using the same measurements as I like a lot of spice, I put twice as much hot sauce and it was perfect! All my friends loved it so I will definitely be making it again!
Since this week I just documented one thing I decided it would be good to tell you all the steps to making it in case you would rather that than watching the linked video!
Step 1: Season and cook chicken in the oven
Step 2: Make cheese mixture with cream cheese, hot sauce, ranch sauce and cheddar cheese
Step 3: Shred chicken
Step 4: Combine all ingredients and put into pan
Step 5: Put in oven with extra cheese on top on broil to melt cheese
Step 6: Enjoy with your favourite crackers or chips!!
After making this weeks learning project I am continuing to create new things and have learnt making meals doesn’t always need to be complicated sometimes it is good to throw together something simple which tastes just as good with much less effort!
Hi Olivia!
Dips are great food, and TikTok has a lot of recipes for them. The different creators on video platforms have made cooking and baking fun to learn! It looks yummy, and keep up the incredible work!
This sounds like such a cozy dish to share with friends and family! Dip recipes are my favourite things to have on hand! They are good to bring to gatherings, potlucks, appy nights, and to just have at home for a comfort snack. I love using TikTok to find new recipes, They are quick and to the point and they make (most) recipes seem like less of a chore than some you read in a cook book.
Looking forward to the next recipe you share!
Hello Olivia! This dip sounds and looks very delicious! It is very cool that you made a meal/snack for all your friends to enjoy. I will definitely have to try making this dip since it looks very yummy. Great job!

I love being on the recipe side of TikTok! There is always such fun and yummy things that pop up! Your dip looks like it turned out great! I totally agree with you, sometimes cooking does not need to be complex and time consuming, sometimes it can be just as great when it is quick and easy!
