Discovering the use of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning!!

In recent days, I investigated the use of ChatGPT, an AI language and conversational tool, based on its applicability for teaching and learning in the classrooms. The application’s versatility, its ability to adapt to the educational process, and the possibility of an individual approach to the student is an undoubtful advantage of the tool.

Improving Quality in Teaching and Learning For Teachers:
  • Lesson Planning: ChatGPT can get creative with lesson ideas, recommend fun activities, and offer numerous examples, which will reduce the time needed for the educators.
  • Administrative Support: It can take care of simple tasks like writing emails, developing rubrics that meet standards, formatting documents so that teachers can teach their students.
  • Development: Teachers can use the tool to search for new ways of acting in class, for discovering new trends, and for practicing prospective debates, as a rehearsal, to improve its actions.
Improving Quality in Teaching and Learning For Students:
  • Personalized Learning: Chat GPT also shows flexibility as it explains things, solves queries, and gives directions based on the student’s progress and concern.
  • Skill Building: It helps develop critical thinking by creating discussions among students, as well as helps solve problems or develop ideas to a certain task. For instance, it can be used as a writing exercise by the students or use it to give an example of a historical event.
  • Accessible Learning: Both visual and verbal learners can be helped – students who prefer visuals will be given structured overviews and vocal students will be able to converse.
Informing the Evaluation and Development of Assessment: 
  • Assess Understanding: AI can help teachers to ask formative questions or, alternatively, develop entertaining quizzes that allow checking the learners’ understanding in the process of learning.
  • Fostering Creativity: AI could be used by students as a primary idea generator for essays, projects or stories that learners would then develop using the idea generated by the AI.

Ethical and practical challenges:

AI also comes with some disadvantages:

  • Accuracy and Bias: Thus, the use of AI in content generation can lead to generation of wrong information or derive conclusions from such things that are encoded within its training data and so on and on it is would require consideration to the educators.
  • Over-Reliance: One of the challenges of using AI is that it narrows down the ability of the students to start thinking independently and solving questions by themselves they rely on the AI gadget.
  • Privacy Concerns: AI tools work with data shared with others; it brings problems to students’ private issues and data protection. personal point of view and future position.

There are great opportunities for improvements and active interactions in case of incorporating AI in education system. But it should not be done carelessly, care should be taken to ensure that equitable approach is used hence ethical in the process and under the watchful eyes of teachers. It should be pointed out that AI presence in a classroom should not mediate a learner’s interactions, but enhance them.
