Flour, Frosting & Growth: My Baking Journey with EDTC 300

When I started EDTC 300, I was excited (and slightly nervous) to dive into something new. I chose baking not just to master recipes, but to reconnect with a part of myself that loves creativity, care, and joy. Over the past ten weeks, I turned my small kitchen into a learning lab filled with color, aroma, and life—and now it’s time to reflect on that sweet, swirly journey.

🍰 Why Baking?

I’ve always admired those who bake effortlessly—watching frosting swirl smoothly or cakes rise perfectly. But I never had the confidence or time to try it myself. This learning project gave me that chance. And more than anything, it reminded me how healing, exciting, and therapeutic learning something new can be.

🌿 My Personal Favorite: The Pistachio Dream Cake

Among all the recipes, one stood out—not for perfection, but for how it made me feel: confident, creative, and proud.

This cake was light, delicately flavored, and topped with pistachios and coconut—a little Indian flair with a lot of heart. It also marked my first successful decoration attempt!

🎨 Learning to Swirl, Pipe, and Trust Myself

By the end of this journey, I had learned how to:

  • Whip cream (and what happens when it goes wrong 😅)

  • Stabilize frosting using cream cheese and heavy cream

  • Make caramel sauce from scratch

  • Play with color to create marble cupcakes

  • And most importantly: reflect on my process with honesty and joy

Each post pushed me to try something new—and even though some pictures weren’t “Instagram-perfect,” they were mine. And they were meaningful.

🎉 Final Thoughts

I may not be a professional baker now, but I’ve become something even better—a curious, open-minded learner who knows how to reflect, adjust, and celebrate every small win.

Thank you EDTC300—for reminding me how beautiful learning can be.
