š Swirls of Joy: My Marble Cupcake Celebration Bake (Final Learning Post!
To wrap up my EDTC300 baking journey, I wanted to do something playful, colorful, and full of lifeājust like what this project has meant to me. So, I baked neon swirl cupcakes using a Betty Crocker SuperMoist white cake mix, and the results were magical!
š§ The Process: Swirls, Shades & Smiles
I divided the cake batter into three portions and colored them with red, green, and blue neon food coloring. Then, I gently swirled the colors into each cupcake liner to create a stunning marble effect.

Once baked, the swirl design came to lifeāno two cupcakes looked the same, and the color inside was beautifully bright.
They rose beautifully and kept the color insideāso exciting!
šØ The Frosting & Finishing Touch
To make it extra special, I used the cream cheese and whipped cream frosting I had perfected in my earlier bake. I piped swirls on top of each cupcake, and they looked like little edible rainbows!

A swirl of color inside and outāfun, soft, and so joyful!
š§ What I Learned
From this bake, I learned how to:
-
Layer and swirl colored batter without overmixing
-
Use piping for frosting with confidence
-
Turn a simple premix into something visually impressive and kid-approved!
This also helped me understand color behavior in bakingāhow gels mix, how they bake, and how to layer for the best marble effect.
š Learning Source: I used this great Marble Cake Color Guide from Wilton to help plan my color swirls and layering.
š Final Reflection
This recipe wasnāt just a celebration of colorāit was a celebration of confidence, learning, and love. My kids absolutely loved these cupcakes and couldnāt stop admiring the swirls. And for me, it was the perfect way to mark how far Iāve comeāfrom trying whipped cream for the first time, to swirling color like a pro!
Thank you, EDTC300, for giving me a reason to learn something new just for myselfāand for reminding me how joyful learning can be.
