“Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today.” –Malcolm X
Greetings! I’m Priyanka. In 2022, my family and I moved from India to Saskatoon. I’ve always been committed to community service and teaching, and my early volunteer work in local schools inspired me to become an educator.
Despite societal challenges in a conservative environment, my father’s support allowed me to excel academically, earning degrees in Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Master of Science in Mathematics (M.Sc.), and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from Panjab University. I’m known for my innovative teaching methods.
I spent 17 years teaching Mathematics in public and government schools, despite facing gender bias and discrimination. I witnessed the positive transformation of underprivileged special-needs children as education became more inclusive through collaboration.
Now, I’m working on re-entering the teaching field by earning credits at the University of Regina. With my family’s unwavering support, I achieved ECE Level I and other certifications to become an Early Childhood Educator. Guiding young children to learn and achieve their goals brings me immense joy, and I’m inspired by their innate curiosity and progress as I explore innovative ways to promote their well-being.
