About Me

A headshot of the author of the blog, Rhonda. Hi! I am Rhonda, a teacher, life-long learner, and current Masters of Education student at the University of Regina. I hold a Bachelors of Education with distinction and a Postgraduate Diploma in Art Gallery and Art Museum Practice. My studies in education and arts management inform my interest in exploring creativity, collaboration, and community.

I teach grade 5 with Regina Public Schools and have been an educator for over a decade, beginning my career in high school and junior high before finding my place in middle years. I’ve also worked in arts and culture as an Education Coordinator, at the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre, where I designed and led creative programs that built community and engagement.

Through my blog, Cultures of Learning, I’m documenting my learning project, brewing kombucha, while reflecting on social media and open education. Brewing kombucha offers a tangible metaphor for cultures of learning. Here curiosity ferments and connections are cultivated. Let’s explore, experiment, and learn together; your questions, insights and experiences are welcome!
