Who Am I?

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to pursue a career in teaching. At first I had different thoughts of the type of teacher I wanted to become, but from working at daycares, teaching swimming lessons and babysitting, it became clear that elementary education was the right choice for me. I can’t see myself doing any other job and I am super excited to start my journey!

I grew up in a small town called Grenfell, about an hour and a half east of Regina. My father is a farmer so I’ve spent a lot of time with him out at the farm. My mother is a stay at home mom, but before she had kids was a paramedic. She works hard to keep my brother and I happy and has always supported my dreams of becoming a teacher. I also have a little brother who is four years younger than me. Through out school I danced competitively from grade 3-12. I also played school volleyball as well as club!

I believe I can grow to become a great elementary teacher. I know that every child has different needs and some are going to enjoy being around new people and being in front of the class, and others need a little bit of time and motivation to do that. I want to show my students that I will be there for them always and be their number one fan. No child should go through school with a grumpy teacher because I know that it affects how they learn and feel. There are many different types of students and I want to be the teacher that can support each and every one of them. I believe that it is important to grow a strong relationship with all students, parents, and even co-workers. I am so excited to start my new journey in university and see how much I can change for the better over the course of my degree!
