My name is Sarah, and I am just wrapping up my first year of Secondary Education which, to say the least, was a whirlwind of ups and downs. Looking back on it now though, I cannot believe how much I have grown as an individual and how fast it all flew by! University has pushed me to try things I would have never imagined myself doing, such as joining a recreational volleyball team and creating my own twitter profile.
I am a cheerful and optimistic person, and my ultimate goal in life is to always create happiness within myself and others. I absolutely love travelling; the picture above was taken at Rottnest Island when I went to visit my aunt in Australia this past December. Family is so important to me, and there is nothing I enjoy more than spending time with them. One of my biggest passions is being a Girl Guide leader. You can learn more about why I love being involved with Girl Guides of Canada by checking out the community service section of my ePortfolio.
I do not currently have much experience with educational technology or blogging, which is one of the reasons I am so excited for EDTC 300! The majority of my knowledge about educational technology stems from the very first education course I took, ECS 100. I learned a LOT in this course, including how to create an ePortfolio. However, the course did not directly teach me how to blog or how to maintain a professional social media profile. I do not mind the idea of blogging, as I know how vital it is to have a positive online presence in today’s society, I just have not ever really tried it. Let’s hope I can figure it out!
