I grew up in the small town of Beechy, Saskatchewan. This is a town located in the South-West corner of rural Saskatchewan, consisting of about 200 residents. My two brothers and I were raised by a single mother from a young age and grew up with the concept that family is of most importance. With most of our extended family also living in or near Beechy, we were able to get together a lot. We were always there to celebrate birthdays, holidays, accomplishments and cheer each other on at sporting events. I was able to take part in many sports growing up including hockey, volleyball, curling, and badminton, I also took part in the 4-H Club where I showed cattle. Growing up in a close-knit family and small town like this has played a major role in developing who I am and my beliefs.
