Learning Project: Wrap Up & Reflection

When I first started this learning project, I honestly wasn’t sure how it would go. I’ve always wanted to have a consistent fitness routine—but between work, school, mom life, and general exhaustion, it just never stuck. I’d start strong, feel motivated for a week or two, and then fall off track when things got busy (which they always do). Most of my workouts were random, sporadic, and usually cut short because I didn’t really know what to do once I actually got to the gym. I often left feeling more discouraged than energized. On top of that, the lack of routine just made everything feel harder. I was tired, stressed,…

Week 5: Stress, Stretching and Scrolling

Okay, real talk—this week  was absolute chaos. My husband was away for work, we had three (yes, THREE) dance recitals, a birthday party, and I was scrambling to finish a bunch of assignments. To be honest, I’m super late posting this update, and for a while I wasn’t even sure what I wanted to write about. I had originally planned to focus on nutrition this week, but between the lack of sleep and the running-around-like-a-maniac energy, that kind of flew out the window. Week 4: Feeling Better & Moving More

After feeling like a zombie last week thanks to that wicked sinus infection, I’m finally feeling like a human again – and I was actually looking forward to moving my body this week. That said, I knew better than go hard right off the start. I wanted to amp up my fitness routine, but also give myself a bit of grace and ease into things at the start of the week. This Week’s Tech Tool Since I was easing back in, I decided to try incorporating some quick and easy home workouts a couple of times a week before my gym days. Now I’m not new to at home workouts…

    Week 3: Me vs. Motivation

This week definitely tested me. After my successful week 2 at the gym, I had big plans for Week 3. I was going to up my gym game, try out some new machines, and maybe even add in some at-home workouts during the week. But instead, I found myself curled up on the couch with a box of tissues, a blanket, and the worst sinus infection/flu I think I have ever had. So no, I didn’t make it to the gym this week. And in the past, this is where the story would end. But this time, I did something different. Instead of letting one off-week derail the whole thing…

    Weeks 1&2

Okay yes, whoops – I forgot to post in real time. But you know what I didn’t forget? To actually do the work. So I’m backtracking a little to fill you in on what I’ve been up to for weeks 1 and 2 of my learning project. Week 1: Just Get Started This was the week I officially began the “omg I’m really doing this” phase. I started out by scouring the internet for tips n how to actually start a fitness routine and stay consistent – which, as it turns out, is the real challenge. Between blog posts, social media, and enough Pinterest pins to build a digital vision…
