Field Blog 8

On Tuesday November 27th I had my 8th and final week at my Field Experience school. It was a very emotional day. We started the morning off by doing the Daily 5 like always. Well the children were doing their Daily 5 routine me, and my partner were in the teachers lounge making hot chocolate for the kids. We did this as a surprise for them as it was our last day there and I even made them chocolate chip cookies to go with it. After we had the cookies and hot chocolate it was recess and we talked with our co-op teacher a bit. After recess the kids had French, so we went to talk with our coop teacher in the library about our overall time there and our evaluation. After this the kids had lunch and my partner, and I had decided to stay until 2:30 and the kids had no idea and when they found out they were all so happy. After lunch we took the kids to play bench ball with us in gym class. Once gym class was done it was time for me and my partner to leave. The kids and our co-op teacher had made us both cards that they all signed and some of the kids even made us their own gifts to give to us. I was sad to leave but these kids and our co-op teacher have given me a Field Experience I will never be able to forget!

My overall Field Experience was great! I have grown more as a person and as a teacher. I feel like I have grown as a teacher because I have learnt how a class room is set up but this is only one experience of classroom and I hope to grow from this, I also got to see how a teacher handles the classroom and the children in it and feel like I can take away from how our co-op teacher handled her classroom. I will forever be thankful for everything our co-op teacher has taught me and have even written down lots that I can use in my teaching experience. The first day or two I was there I remember I was nervous because I was not to sure how it was going to go or work. I was also worried I wouldn’t like the whole Field Experience thing, like my coop teacher, or even liking the grade I had been placed in. But I soon learned that the Field Experience was what I looked forward to every week and I loved my coop teacher she was amazing, and I even liked being in the grade 2/3 classroom. It was a very emotional last day at the School but my coop teacher told me that me and my partner are aloud to visit whenever we would like!
