Hello! I am Taia Schmidt, I grew up just outside of Regina in Emerald Park. I am beyond excited to start my journey as a future educator!

I grew up alongside my loving family whom were my greatest influencers. They shaped and influenced all my decisions in life, including deciding to become an educator. My parents encouraged me to pursue whatever made me happy, which were children. Growing up I always had a little one following in my footsteps and I absolutely loved it. This showed me what an honour it was to help and positively influence the future generation and that’s when I decided teaching was for me.

My friends are another big aspect that led me to become an educator. They allowed me to be myself and discover I am an extrovert. Whenever I am with my friends I become very outgoing and adventurous.I believe being an extrovert is a great quality to have when becoming an educator. It allows you to be confident and optimistic around others, which will also allow the children feel comfortable growing and learning with this type of atmosphere in my classroom.
