Another week goes by and I get closer to seeing the finished product. This week, I started cutting the 2×4’s to fit in the 2×10’s for bracing it together. These measurements weren’t all the same as the back of the van is narrower than the front. At the back the measurement was 61″, as I moved to the middle beam it got to 64″, and finally as I got to the last or front beam the measurement was 66″
After all the beams were put in place, the most important part came, making sure it was square. Additionally, each half had to be the same measurement to ensure the drawers at the very end would fit.
Finally after everything was squared, I was able to start screwing in the 2×4’s to the 2×10’s to fasten it into place. This helped make everything sturdy and strong.
