Let’s talk about golf etiquette! I have only golfed with my family and close friends at some local courses. I went out recently with my boyfriend and his friends and although they don’t take it serious they were teasing me about my etiquette on the course so that inspired me to learn more. The first thing I learnt was to not speak loudly during someone’s tee off and especially their back swing.
Another thing I got called on was walking on someone’s line. I didn’t understand this so when I found it on the PGA website I was able to read what they meant.
The rest of the rules I mostly knew about or don’t apply to my personal game of golf as someone who does it just for fun.
One this I appreciate about the PGA website is they broke down the etiquette rules by the different portions of golf like
ArrivinG
Warm up
Tee off
Game play
Putting greens
Etc.
This helps understand what you should follow as the game progresses. Another thing I appreciate was the “improve your game secretion” where you can find videos of drills in order to help your form and overall performance.
Hey Harli,
Thanks for the new knowledge about etiquette. I can say for myself, my favourite part of golfing is driving the golf cart. I also learned quickly last year that I wasn’t supposed to drive it on the green… whoopsie. I will use this new knowledge about golf etiquette to try not to be a menace on the course.

Hey Harlieanne!
I really liked how in the beginning part of the blog post, you provided a basic schedule of your golfing day. This I appreciated. Another thing I noted was your discussion regarding PGA. This was important for me because as a newcomer towards gold, I would not be able to know the various portions of golf as you described. Thank you kindly for doing this.
Harlieanne, I see that you have a photography section in this forum post. As for this blog post specifically, one thing I recommend implementing for the future is to provide videos to demonstrate how you are achieving your targeted skill, golfing.
Hi Harlieanne,
I love that you focused on the topic of golf etiquette. As a newer golfer I to didn’t realize there was really such a thing. I like how your resource broke down the etiquette rules. It’s crazy how professional golf truly is. Did you know that it’s one form of in person entertainment you are not allowed to have your phone on you if you are watching in person?
Hi Harlieanne,
Thanks for sharing your golf etiquette journey! It’s interesting how some of the rules, like not talking during a tee off or avoiding walking on someone’s line, can really change the experience on the course. I like how you found the PGA website helpful, especially with the etiquette broken down by different parts of the game — that sounds like a great way to learn step-by-step. The “improve your game” section with drills also seems like a fantastic resource for anyone wanting to get better while having fun. Looking forward to hearing more about your golf experiences!
Hey Harli!
Thanks for sharing! Golf etiquette needs to be shared!! I think having it always makes the experience that much better! I’ve always wondered about the walking across someones line, I was golfing with a group and we starting chatting. Keep in mind he was older, he said he didn’t believe it was an issue when there is people walking across the green! I am someone who gets frustrated when golfing with people with no etiquette! I really enjoyed where you share the “improve your game”. I will forsure be checking it out!!
Is there any other little etiquette things you know of?
